Ten years since she strolled through the city park with him, hand in hand.

Ten years since she’d been betrayed by him.

Ten years since she’d escaped.

ONE CHANCE FOR REDEMPTION...AND LOVE.

Rowan doesn’t know why she looks familiar.

Why she showed up at his martial arts center.

Or why she’s wearing the necklace of his sister, who died ten years ago.

If he can keep her alive, that is…

Because he’s not the only one who found her.

PROLOGUE FOR "HER EXPIRATION DATE"

Phillip labored with feverish intensity to get everything ready at the old wooden shack. The smell of mold and decay blanketed the air. Cold gusts of wind beat against the outer walls, sweeping through the cracks between the planks of wood every few minutes, stinging his face and hands.  He didn't have much time and there was still a lot to do. He concentrated his efforts on the four foot by five foot room that would be hers, figuring he could get rid of the mice and trash in the larger room later. He picked up anything sharp or heavy, though. He didn't want any stuff lying around that she could use against him if she was disoriented when she got there.

She would understand, though. He was sure of it.

She'd done her best to help him already by getting rid of the dogs and that Mizrahi guy. He thought back to the first note he put on her doorstep. She'd reacted quickly, storming out to that guy's car, demanding that he leave. It was obvious she didn't want anyone to get in the way of him coming for her. He was hiding as she scanned the street, hoping to see him. He'd had to turn away, sad that the time wasn't right. But soon...

It took awhile for his head to clear after he stopped taking that stupid medication. He was so much better now. Everything was so much clearer. It was fortunate he'd stopped taking it before the second time God contacted him on the phone to give him his instructions or his head might have been too muddled to understand. But he did understand.  He understood everything.  The thought made him smile.

He wished he could have seen her reaction to his second note, but too many cars and people obstructed his view.  She'd done as he asked, though. She got rid of that guy and even made things easier on him by getting rid of her dogs herself. So thoughtful. He made a mental note to remember to thank her.

Then he scowled.

Colson Mizrahi. At least that's what the piece of junk mail in his car said his name was. The liar. It was clear he was one of them. They would try anything to stop him and Mina from being together. Sure, he was out of the picture for now, but he was persistent. Maybe she'd realized his true nature, though.

He reassured himself by going through his instructions again, from stopping his medication to the day he was supposed to contact her. He giggled. The package had been his own idea. She seemed to appreciate it. He knew because she didn't throw it away. He checked.

His watch alarm went off, reminding him an hour had passed.  He was behind schedule.  He reinforced the broken panels in the door with some boards for her privacy and wiped away some of the cobwebs from the corner before putting a sleeping bag there. He frowned at it, not at all pleased with how that situation worked out. But he couldn't get the cot completely unfolded in the little room so he had no choice. She would understand.

Then he installed a lock on the outside of the door, just in case she didn't.

He thought through his plan again and a slow smile spread across his face. It was perfect. They would never have a clue where to find him or Mina. Now all he had to do was wait. The timing had to be perfect.
